Here is the effort to list out the Seven entertainment wonders of Chennai.....
1. Elloits Corner - Besant Nagar Beach
Elliots Beach is the best place to be in Besant Nagar. The sands of the beach have been witness to many an interesting tale: from suicides and crimes to sweet nothings and soft whisperings. Saturday and Sunday evenings here are busy; college studs are seen strutting around with their ‘gang’ or sitting as a group in the famous ‘platform’. The long road leading into Besant Nagar from Malar Hospital has seen it all; right from teenagers’ bike-fighting, claiming I-am-faster, to film shootings of a wide range of actors and actresses! It’s really THE place to ride a bike; same for the car.
2. Mylapore Kapaleeswarar Temple.
Original temple was at Sea-shore the place of which is now called Santhome Cathedral. The temple is well know for its fragmentary inscription based on old vijaynagar tradition. The popular festival celebrated every year in Chennai includes the Mylapore Car Festival associated with this temple
3. Spencer Plaza
Spencer Plaza is one of Chennai's finest & largest shopping mall and covers over a million square feet.Food world, music world, health & glow, vummidiars, van heusen, proline, arrow, american express, allen solly besides a lot of retailers dealing with jewellery, domestic appliances, leather goods and handicrafts are housed inside the mall. It is centre for what not......!!
4. Sathyam Cinemas
Sathyam Cinemas is Chennai’s hottest entertainment destination for people from all walks of life, across a wide age group and user profile. Sathyam Cinemas is among the first in Chennai and the country to introduce Digital Projection (RDX) in its screens, houses its own bakery with a specialist chef who churns out the most delectable snacks and desserts around town and has a lot more lined up to give Chennai its finest entertainment experience.
5. Hotel Saravana Bhavan:
Known for its quality. We cannot think of tamilnadu, chennai in particular without HSB. Hub for variety of southern dishes.
6. Kamal Tea Stall, Kodambakkam (Kudos GSM Sir):
A cup of tea will make you relax from hard day work. Hamma....A big energy driver. Kamal Tea Shop near Liberty Theatre will give you something more than that relaxation. It has taste and that extra punch which certainly makes it best....
7. Viveka or Loyolo or MoP Vaishnav?
Entertainment therefore MoP Vaishnav ....Hmmmm.... Heart says Vivekananda. So i would like to finish of this big search by declaring the seventh wonder as "RKM Vivekananda College, Mylapore, Chennai" You guys know the reason for it.....

For all you guys, the Kamal is still not the best (the tea shop, I was referring)
But what I don't understand is the presence of RKM in that list? The only wonder (eighth wonder) I have is how it came in this list. Isn't the college known for "Pazhams"?
Sundar (Sr.), enlighten me on this!
@ Sai Sir...Wonderful thinkers like Sundar (Hello!! that's me)evolved from such great college....Pazhams is the term associated not with outputs from college...rather the person himself.....There are good pazhams from other colleges too...and I am sure certainly RKM's outputs in someway or other they are blessed and by default they will be SUPER STARS in all walks of life...
Further Eg: me,TRS,1 1/2 manushan,Kutti - 4 monkeys (no racism intended!!(idhu vera perum tholla ippo ellam))capable of causing the greatest havoc.. (Typical example every day in office) - true the institution does create quite a lot of characters...
Fun apart.. I did find my experience at Viveka quite supernatural (or ironic), in the sense that it is the place where i spent the least time but learnt the most..
@ Saru: Viduda...this blog space is not enought to list out the bundle of people..starting from saravanan sir to...........!!! RKM Rocks...It's true that RKM always have a edge over other colleges in Chennai. From academic or sports point..whichever way...(you know how many international cricket players our college has produced...But i regret for producing Lax Balaji.)
